What a summer it was! It’s hard to believe that it’s over already. But we had a great summer and we have a lot to show for it!
We have added a drip irrigation system to our garden. This is a more sustainable and efficient way to water. It ensures enough water gets to the plants every day and it saves us a ton of time!
We have expanded the chicken run to include more space to roam and for the chickens to forage.
This summer was complete with two successful goat births. Both mamas gave birth to healthy sets of twins and the best part of it all is that summer campers were able to hold day old babies! What an incredible experience!
With the help of our new greenhouse, this year we were able to time our vegetables to be harvestable exactly when our campers were here. We had successful harvests of kale, zucchini, cucumbers, strawberries, tomatoes, peas, lettuce, radishes, melon and basil. Yum!
We’ve also made progress on the amphitheater. This unique new space is a great addition for worship and large group meetings in the farm
It’s been a blessing to get out in our community by doing more church visits with the goats, sheep and chickens, letting you all experience these fun and loving animals. We have also had continued success selling farm fresh eggs!
But what we can’t stress enough is just how precious summer time is. It’s so fun to see the farm come to life with camper Bible studies and worship in the farm. Watching the faith and community of the youth grow in this sacred space… we couldn’t ask for more.
